The vegan shoe pioneers avesu from Berlin and Shoes For Society from Munich are now forming a Plan(e)t Based Collective! Our goal is to offer you a reliable source of support when you're looking for shoes and accessories that are not only animal-friendly and sustainable, but also manufactured under fair working conditions. Because one thing is clear: With completely ethical shoes, we're taking bigger steps toward a fair, cruelty-free, and environmentally conscious future!

What actually happened to avesu, and who is behind Shoes For Society?

As many of you know, avesu unfortunately had to file for bankruptcy and cease operations in September 2024 for a variety of reasons. Since its founding in 2010, avesu has been passionately and passionately committed to an ethical footwear industry. As a pioneer in vegan and sustainable footwear, avesu has not only supported countless small brands but also built a strong community of loyal footwear fans who believe in a better, fairer fashion world.

Around the same time that avesu was forced to close its doors, Fabi from Munich opened his own vegan shoe store, Shoes For Society. Fabi, himself a passionate advocate of sustainable (shoe) fashion, saw purchasing items from the avesu brand as an opportunity to further the values ​​and goals of the Berlin-based company.

The great thing about it? Part of the long-standing avesu team is still on board! Together, with Shoes For Society X avesu, we're committed to vegan, fair, and sustainable shoes as a new plan(e)t-based collective – for the best vegan customer you could wish for!
