ID.Eight | Vegan Sneakers
ID.EIGHT is the brainchild of the couple Dong Seon Lee and Giuliana Borzillo and represents their desire for a more sustainable (fashion) world. Both pursued their creativity professionally in the fashion industry, which ultimately led to their paths crossing at a shoe trade fair in 2017. They were immediately smitten, and it wasn't long before they brought their shared vision—to found an environmentally conscious footwear brand—to life. ID.EIGHT itself carries a profound meaning: 'ID' stands for identity, while 'EIGHT' symbolizes the limitless cycle of regeneration.
The sneakers exude the casual essence of 1990s style and a distinct coolness. They are made from industrial waste such as apple peels and cores, which are transformed into vegan apple leather. To further minimize the ecological footprint of their sneakers, GRS-certified recycled polyester, natural rubber, and organic cotton are used. The Marche region of Italy hosts the ethical production of these sneakers in a small local factory to minimize transport routes.
Seamlessly crafted down to the smallest detail, the sneakers reflect the founding couple's passion for footwear. The packaging also reflects the brand's ethics—it's made from recycled cardboard and biodegradable bioplastic bags. As a little greeting from Dong and Giuliana, your order also includes a Seed Bomb. This allows you to create a bit of nature in a neglected corner of your city, or enjoy it yourself by planting it in a pot for your home.
These sneakers tend to run a little small. If you're between sizes or wear different sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.
